All engines are mated to the dependable GM 10-speed Hydra-Matic automatic transmission. The rear-wheel drive is standard on all but Denali Ultimate trims, with four-wheel drive being optional across all trim levels apart from the Denali Ultimate, which receives it as standard. When properly equipped, the Yukon XL can tow a maximum of 8,300 pounds.
